AACB Announces Destinations International Prize Winner for 2020

The Association of Australian Convention Bureaux (AACB) is excited to announce Ms Luncinda Hunter, Event Services Coordinator, Business and Major Events at Brisbane Economic Development Agency (formerly Brisbane Marketing), as recipient of the 2020 Destinations International Prize.

This scholarship presents Ms Hunter with an amazing opportunity to learn from the Destinations International 2020 Annual Convention, and be included in the DI 30 under 30s program. To reflect the impacts of the coronavirus pandemic, Ms Hunter will head online to attend the virtual convention in July as well as participate in the 30 under 30s virtual professional development program, which includes monthly webinars until February 2021.

Andrew Hiebl, AACB CEO said "With the impacts of the coronavirus, it is great to see our global partnership with Destinations International still provide opportunities for young professionals to learn from the international business events community and connect with their peers from afar. Ms Hunter will be exposed to a marketplace of ideas on a national scale which will be unique to the pandemic recovery and future of business events.

The Destinations International Annual Convention is the premier event for destination marketing and management professionals, providing a unique opportunity for professionals to connect with and learn from peers and thought leaders from inside and outside the industry. The 2020 program embraces "Inspiring Greatness" and will be delivered virtually from 14-15 July.

Ms Hunter joined Brisbane EDA in 2020 as Events Services Coordinator responsible for confirmed business and major events administration, marketing, city activation and leveraging.

When Ms Hunter received the news she said “I am thrilled to be attending the Destinations International Convention and to be involved in a program where I can further my knowledge of the business events industry and learn from peers and thought leaders around the world.”

“I look forward to progressing my career in the industry, inspiring event organisers to choose Brisbane for business events, and contributing to my city’s economic recovery and future prosperity.”

The AACB thanks the Destinations International Foundation for supporting this program and the industry’s future leaders.
