Export Market Development Grants Scheme
The 2015 Review of the Export Market Development Grants (EMDG) Scheme was announced on 10 December 2014 by the Hon Andrew Robb AO MP, Minister for Trade and Investment.
The Review offers a comprehensive examination of the effectiveness of the EMDG scheme.
Objectives
Objectives of the review look at whether the EMDG scheme, as currently structure is effective in:
- Increasing the number of businesses that develop into new exporters
- Increasing the number of businesses that achieve sustainability in exporter markets and generate additional exporters
- Further developing an export culture in Australia
Additionally the review examines whether the scheme should be extended and if so:
- The period of extension
- Options for improved performance of the scheme
- Options for funding scheme administration costs
Timing
The Review will be completed and written Report provided to the Minister by 30 June 2015.
