AACB Staff Scholarship

AACB Staff Scholarship Revised for 2021

AACB's Staff Scholarship for 2020/21 was modified to support crisis recovery that considers the future of Australia’s business events industry. 

The scholarship has been further modified to support convention bureaux staff with two successful applicants now each receiving a $3,300 cash grant to undertake a proposed project of career development that brings benefit to their bureau and AACB members. 

Project nominations need to be business events focused and relevant to crisis recovery. It should incorporate recovery of the domestic and/or international business events markets in Australia and address recovery in the short, medium and long term.

The proposal could also consider

  • Innovation,
  • Recovery tactics,
  • Membership engagement,
  • Sales strategies,
  • The business events pipeline by industry and/or incentive groups,
  • Promoting destinations beyond the event and
  • The future of digital platforms.

To achieve the outcomes of your project, AACB supports undergoing professional development, registration of events, access to research and support that may be required from other services.

Eligible applicants must be employed by an AACB member, within a convention bureau or business events department.

The application process requires:

  • CEO/Bureau Manager nomination
  • Application form
  • A project proposal focused on business events that supports your career professionalism and brings benefit to your bureau and AACB members across Australia. Project nominations for 2020/21 also need to be a business events focused and relevant to crisis recovery that considers the future recovery and rebound of the business events industry in Australia. 

Applicants agree by submitting an application that as part of the judging process, they may be required for a videoconference interview by the judging panel.
