MEA Young Professional Scholarship 2017





This year, Meetings & Events Australia (MEA) in conjunction with the Association of Australian Convention Bureaux (AACB) will again be offering a Young Professional Scholarship for staff within AACB’s membership.

The MEA 2017 National Conference will be held in the new International Convention Centre Sydney from 30 April – 2 May.

This is the largest and most established conference that represents all sectors of the Australian events industry that offers a platform to learn, network and grow.

This year’s conference will push the boundaries and challenge you to open your minds to the possibilities to improve the delivery of events.

The scholarship offers the opportunity for the successful applicant to receive:

  • Registration to the MEA 2017 National Conference
  • Accommodation (3 nights) for the conference

ELIGIBILITY: to be eligible, the nominee must be:

  • 30 years of age or under with less than 3 years’ full time experience in the meetings and events industry;
  • Have demonstrated commitment to their job and a keen interest in the meetings industry;
  • Available for phone interview (if required); and
  • If successful, must be able to attend the 2017 National conference in Sydney between 30 April – 2 May.

A national winner of the scholarship will be chosen. However, AACB and MEA have the right to withhold the 2017 Professional Scholarship if the level of interest or quality of submissions is below expectation.

MEA Young Professional Scholarship, 2015

MEA and AACB is proud to congratulate: Ms Chloe Armstrong of the Melbourne Convention Bureau as winner of the innaugural MEA Young Professional Scholarship.

Chloe is the MCB's Convention Contract Coordinator and is responsible for managing all won events and serving as client liaison.

Chloe commented, "As the recipient of the MEA Young Professional Scholarship, I was fortunate enough to attend the MEA National Conference 2015, in the beautiful setting of Hamilton Island. 

The MEA Young Professional Scholarship is dedicated to the professional development of AACB member staff.
